Wow am I in trouble…

The Georgetown Loop high bridge as seen c. 1885.Image via Wikipedia Hi there…

Yes, I get it. 400 lashes with a wet noodle. I’ve been negligent in posting pictures for the last… [gasp]… 5 months.

Would it help to say that we’ve been more than a little busy? Probably not…

Ok, just so I don’t miss anything here, I’m going to be posting pictures of the following events…

  • The trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, by Ev, Mykayla, AJ, Auntie “E” and Shaun “T” back in March
  • Some soccer photos from Mykayla’s Spring 2008 season
  • Some race photos from Mykayla’s Spring 2008 running club meets
  • Some photos from the Georgetown Loop RR in June with the girls, Auntie “E”, Shaun “T” and Pop Pop
  • Some photos from our trip to Taylor Reservoir with Auntie “E” and Shaun “T” at the end of June
  • Some photos from our raft trip down the Arkansas with  Auntie “E” and Shaun “T” in July
  • Some photos of the new swingset going up in our backyard in July
  • Some photos from the before school party at ITZ with the girls in August
  • Some photos from the trip Ev & I took to Monterey, CA in August
  • A picture of Mykayla on the 1st day of 2nd grade!
  • And some pictures of our Banfield-sponsored event at Sky Sox Stadium where Ev threw out the 1st pitch and Mykayla was the Jr. Announcer for an inning!

Whew… I think that covers it. I hope so anyway…!

Hope everyone is doing well! I’ll get cracking now…

Gabriel’s Angels Walk - March 1, 2008

Hi all…

Thought I’d post some of the pictures my wife took during their charity walk for Gabriel’s Angels on March 1, 2008. Ev, Mykayla, AJ, Granny Sue, and Granny Sue’s dog Sasha walked the whole 2 mile route in Gilbert, AZ, at the Cosmo Dog Park.

Ev & the girls raised more than $2000 for the walk and had a great time visiting back in AZ.

Here’s some pictures from the event!

Ashlyn’s (AJ’s) 3rd Birthday at Pump-it-Up

Hi all!

And sort of unlike what we did for Mykayla, having the party after the birthday, for AJ we had the party before her birthday on Superbowl Sunday. Afterwards, the Superbowl even turned out to be worth watching. Who knew?

We had her party at Pump it Up, which is basically a big indoor play place with inflated play areas for the kids. I think everybody had a good time. :)

Everyone was forced to watch the indoctrination video about what NOT to do on the equipment…

Mykayla’s 7th Birthday at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

Hi all…

Though Mykayla’s b-day was January 3, we had her b-day party a few weeks later at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. With family and friends we celebrated that they once again let us into and out of the zoo without trapping any of us in the monkey house. :)

They were able to feed the giraffes, which I think was a big hit even with the adults in the party… Giraffe LoveGiraffes reduxGiraffes and MykaylaHaving fun!More fun!Walking along…

The carousel was a big hit as well…

They had a close encounter of the scaly kind, courtesy of the nice gal in charge of our motley crew during the party…

And at the end there was cake and ice cream! The cake was courtesy of Ethan’s mom, Charlotte.

Afterwards, Mykayla got to hang out with a couple of her friends before we took them home…

So there you have it… I think everybody had a good time. And if you haven’t been to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, we recommend it. :)

Christmas 2007 in Frisco, TX

Hi all…

So for those of you who didn’t know, we were invited to Buddy (Ev’s brother) & Kristen’s house to spend Christmas with them this year. We drove down to Frisco, TX, and had a great time.

Before we left though, Mykayla was concerned that Santa might not know where we were so that he could deliver presents, so she left this lovely note (written on her own, I might add):

Mykayla’s Note to Santa

For those who can’t quite make out the note, it reads as follows:

To: Santa Clause
From: Mykayla
We are in Dallas Texas at
Uncle Buddy’s house.
Merry Christmas!

The day after we arrived, we got to enjoy one of the local playgrounds around their house:

AJ Swinging AJ, Uncle Buddy, and Jackson Sliding

And then on Christmas Eve, we had a surprise visit from Santa himself!

And if that wasn’t exciting enough, we actually still had Christmas morning to go!

So as you can see the children were tortured and neglected this Christmas, as per usual. Nothing fun or frivolous was received in the least… HAHAHAHAHAHA

We enjoyed our time in Frisco, TX, and then headed home for the next incarnation of Christmas with all the other presents we didn’t take to Texas. :)

Have to Share… The Game Has Been Published!

Hey all…

Many of you know that over the years, I’ve been playing roleplaying games. And back in the mid and late 1990s, I wrote a game called Moebius Adventures with my good friend Sean Bindel. He passed away in early 2000 and the game has lain dormant until this summer when I started working on getting it published again.

Moebius Adventures Core Rules Cover Mini Version

Well, the wait is over… The first book of the Moebius Adventures Roleplaying Game. the Moebius Adventures Core Rules book, has been published and is available for sale as an eBook (PDF) and paperback book.

The book is available from:

It’s been a long road, but I’m excited. It was available for a free download today at RPGNow and DriveThruRPG for their ThanksGiveAway promotion this week. And the response has been overwhelming. Almost 500 copies of the book were downloaded in the first 8 hours.

And we had our first sale at Amazon.com today also!

I’m not planning on making millions, but I’m hoping to have the four main books that Sean and I wrote together published in time for the 10th anniversary of his death. A little morbid perhaps, but I’m doing this because I love what we wrote and want others to see how cool it was as well.

So if you’d like to see what the hubub is about, check it out.

Hope you’re having a great week.

Anniversary ATV Trip!

Hi all!

This year, we took a different tack than usual. We decided we would rent a cabin in Salida, CO, visit a couple of local wineries, and go on an ATV tour (no, we weren’t drinking wine WHILE driving ATVs, but thanks for the concern!). Yes, riding ATVs is a little out of the norm for me, but living with Ev is always an adventure… and this one went off road. :)

So here’s a few pictures from the trip. The ATV tour went up Poncha Canyon to the top of Marshall Pass, near Mt Ouray in southen Colorado so we went from 7,000 feet to 10,800. We had a great time!

Enjoy the pics!
